This was really the wrong sequence to end with Fire Logic: it's rather didactic, and I spent the beginning of the book thinking, "No, really, I'd noticed that war and colonialism mess people up after reading FOUR OTHER BOOKS IN A ROW ON THIS TOPIC." Also, I was more interested in Karis than the protagonist. As I settled into the book and the plot became more obviously Karis-centric, I enjoyed it more.
