Awww, this gives me happy memories of all the events I attended when I was active in the SCA, particularly with the talk of how big Viking stuff was getting in An Tir around that time.

I never got terribly serious about my persona, but as I recall I said 14th century French if asked, even though a good part of my hand-me-down wardrobe didn't properly match that. I always meant to get more organized and start putting together a collection that suited that better, but I always wound up getting distracted or finding that it would cost too much. I remember I was thinking about putting together a secondary Viking persona at the end, though, both out of interest in the era and because the clothing was so much more practical and well-suited to camping events. Which, despite the bother and expense, were really my favorite part of the SCA. (Well. That and an actual use for my calligraphy and illumination fascination...)
