The most comfortable work chair I've used (and am sitting on now) is a Herman Miller Mirra. Super comfy, highly adjustable, but insanely expensive. For many years before this I used a big rubber ball, or one of the smaller rubber balls on a frame that had a back rest and casters on the bottom. That's the second comfiest.
