It's a homebrew setting using Fate. The Fate Core System book has a set of guidelines for building a game setting collaboratively, and that worked really well for us! I did some background reading on Aztec culture and mythology that comes in handy when I'm trying to invent new characters and locations; a lot of it is in reading logs tagged 'aztec'.

We're using Google Hangouts, with PDFs of the character sheets and a Google Doc to track everyone's Fate points. Most of us are still rolling physical dice, except for tetrahedral_connection, whose long-wished-for move was dramatically accelerated by current events.

Neat, thanks! I have the Fate core book, but so far haven’t actually managed to play. One game got cancelled before we got done with character creation and the other may still happen (PbP), but the GM’s planning got derailed by Recent Events. It looks really interesting though.

Hangouts is one of the few conferencing options I haven’t yet run into at work *L*. There’s so many.
