laurels & more laurels

This is the HTML (i.e., non-massive-file) version of my poem for Baroness Anne-Marie.

Now if I can just persuade someone to illustrate some imprese for me . . .

By illustrait do you mean make the block print? Were they ususally done in wood block or off of engravings?

Hmm. I would have offered to do a block print for you because it would be fun. But why can't you do the re-drawing? I seem to recall you being totally capable of it... :-) So on a side note, should you want to do another I will make a block print for you. In all of my copious free time. :-)

Oh also, your handout shouldn't have copyright problems if your aren't selling it and are not taking entire books - educational fair use is alive and well, especially as you are not an accredited university and are doing this for a non profit organization. At any rate that is how I justify all of the pics of glass I use in my handouts. We had a lawyer come talk to my studio art seminar class about this sort of stuff and you should be just fine. :-) Now all of the pictures I took of objects in my museum while in DC that Suze is putting up on the website are another issue, but I doubt they will ever be seen by the museum. And I was working for rights and reproductions too, how entertaining...

That is positively, absolutely the best SCA poem I have ever seen.

You. Go. Girl. I love the font and the 'woodcut'. At first glance, I thought you were showing a scan of the Elizabethan print you were using as documentation! :)

this is random, but...

I got to your journal through some sequence of link-following that started at the dimacs reu page. Do you remember when you found out you had been accepted to the program? (I'm just wondering because I haven't been told that I have been rejected, but I haven't heard anything positive either.) Thanks for reading.

Heard from one place a while ago (alternate), then heard yesterday that they didn't need alternates. The third place I applied to had a late deadline (last Friday) so I'm not expecting a decision right away.

I just want to know what is going on with DIMACS. (Even if they reject me.) Maybe I will call them soon. :p

Thanks for the response.

That's lovely, Ursule! And so true... I'm going to miss Their Excellencies so much when they step down. *Sniffles*
