I wanna see photos of the dress!!! :D

In fact, there were several layers of dress.

Here's the red linen dress that [livejournal.com profile] annisa_1380 cut out for me:

On top of the red dress, we pinned a square of gold silk brocade. Then came the black wool gown, trimmed in white silk, and a brocade belt. In this picture, taken after the ceremony, you can also see the collar of laurel leaves that [livejournal.com profile] glasseye made for me (the pendant is Victorian):

The final layer was the mantle and chaperon. I embroidered laurel wreaths and mottoes for the edge of the mantle. The motto is Leal, medieval French for Loyal. Some of the descriptions of Golden Fleece mantles mention the king's motto; my heraldic title, Loyall, is based on a hypothetical royal motto.
