Domesticity Triumphs

I made apple-cinnamon pancakes for dinner. From scratch. Also, one of the other grad students asked me to teach her to knit. I am ASTONISHINGLY DOMESTIC.

In other news, my mother finished the first draft of the novel she's been working on. It's about a topless dancer.

She's independently reading the stuff. I think she has a kind of tongue-in-cheek appreciation, but the sheer volume of stuff that she's read confirms that her interest is neither casual and likely to be dismissed, nor that kind of annoying, touristy-finger pointing variety.

Er. I have no idea. At least presumably it would be nice to direct her to both the LJ of someone who writes Harry Potter fanfic and also some of that very fanfic. At the core, though, I think she's just looking for more reading material and possibly someone to talk to about it.

If you're curious, Bajema has also done a LOT a lot of artistic work, almost all of which may be found at www.bajema.com. The site is immense, although currently under re-re-re-re-re-construction. She's rebuilt the freaking thing about a million dozen times now.
