Baronial Banquet was last night. The food was tasty as always, and I am now the proud owner of two pewter spoons. (I'm kind of tempted to take up eating with knife, spoon, and my hands at events, though the sad truth is I'd be conspicuous.)

The beginning of event season makes me think about all the stuff I want. Here are some things I'd be interested in trading for:

• A bit of tablet-weaving for a fillet
  
• Lampworked beads
  
• A simple late-period skirt
  
• Ottoman pants
  

In return I can offer knitting (socks, stockings, bags, women's gloves or mittens, maybe a hat though I'm kind of bored of doing those), poetry, Latin translation, persona genealogies (hire a herald to prove your nobility!), or scribal stuff (if you're patient). (Oh, I can also offer portable medieval food, or fancy library tricks.)

Anyone interested?

Dang it, now i'm going to have to put together a proper set of feast gear.

...i'd totally help you with some of that, but all i'm really good at are leather and glass. :-\

I suspect there's leather stuff that I should want, but I haven't done the research to figure out what would be plausible for the sixth century.

There's some nifty Egyptian knitting-- socks, mostly, though Urtatim has an image of a "mysterious knit object":

And I have patterns for modern Turkish socks which are pretty nifty.

I love the egyptian style socks, but they would take a lot more work than making a pair of pants, wouldn't they? I don't think it would be a fair trade for you!
But I don't mind making pants for you and figuring out the trade later either. I'm just all about making sure there's more Turkish representation out there :)

I mostly knit in math lectures, so for me sewing is a big time commitment whereas knitting just keeps my hands busy ;)

I ILL'ed the book Urtatim references-- maybe there will be a pouch or something?

I can trade for beads, as I was about to pay for a month of unlimited lampworking time. Might I ask how much the spoons are? I was thinking of getting one. I'll trade a scroll or maybe a personal genealogy.

Do you know who normally vends the spoons? If it's Sean, maybe I can get him to bring one to a business meeting...

On the scroll, not really. I've been awarded a Green Leaf, AoA, and LoSB and the latter already has an original scroll. The Green Leaf I got was gorgeous, and the AoA was a number of reigns ago and I'd have to try and track down their signatures, so it's a tough call. I might just wait and see if I'm awarded something that I'd want an original for, but the AoA is the top contender now.
