1. Who did you last get angry with?
2. What is your weapon of choice?
I have a nice sharp dagger. It's good for eating sausage, on the rare occasions when I can get away for doing so. And I always carry a Swiss Army knife . . .
3. Would you hit a member of the opposite sex?
Yeah. But I doubt I'd be very effective.
4. How about of the same sex?
This is my general response to tickling. Consider yourself warned.
5. Who was the last person who got really angry at you?
I can't say for sure, but I'm sort of assuming it was
6. Do you keep grudges, or can you let them go easily?
I tend not to notice I even minded until months later. So it's not so much that I keep grudges, as that my grudges operate on a more geologic time scale than other people's.
7. What's one thing that's guaranteed to piss you off every time?
If I told you, you might try it.
SLOTH
1. What is one thing you're supposed to do daily that you haven't done in a long time?
Um . . . Exercise?
2. What is the latest you've ever woken up?
3 PM, I think.
3. Name a person you've been meaning to contact, but haven't:
Laura. And lots of other people. If you're reading this, write me e-mail!
4. What is the last lame excuse you made?
It probably involved incoherent mumbling about math or coffee.
5. Have you ever watched an infomercial all the way through (one of the long ones...)?
No. Never.
6. When was the last time you got a good workout in?
Going hiking with my family, I suppose. They are all so much more hardcore than I am. But I have better body image. So there.
7. How many times did you hit the snooze button on your alarm clock today?
My alarm clock doesn't have a snooze button. I just shut it off and went to sleep for an extra hour. Yay, fellowship!
GLUTTONY
1. What is your overpriced yuppie beverage of choice?
Odwalla limeade, I think.
2. Meat eaters: white meat or dark meat?
White.
3. What is the greatest amount of alcohol you've had in one sitting/outing/event?
I'm not really sure, but matching the Russian shot for shot was definitely the most unpleasant morning after I've encountered.
4. Have you ever used a professional diet company?
No. Eek.
5. Do you have an issue with your weight?
No. I believe in ignoring issues until they go away.
6. Do you prefer sweets, salty foods, or spicy foods?
Yes.
7. Have you ever looked at a small housepet or child and thought, "LUNCH"?
No.
LUST
1. How many people have you seen naked (not counting movies/family)?
Um . . . Ignoring technicalities of locker rooms, under 20. Don't feel like counting really.
2. How many people have seen YOU naked (not counting physicians/family)?
See #1. Since I'm not much into nude dancing or the wilder sorts of SCA activities, the number of people who have seen me naked is about equal to the number I've seen.
3. Have you ever caught yourself staring at the chest/crotch of a member of your gender ?
Mostly I stare at people's hair. Unless you mean, "My God, she's falling out of that!"
4. Have you "done it"?
Yup. It was fun, too.
5. What is your favorite body part on a person of your gender of choice?
It only matters if it's a specific person's body, now, doesn't it?
6. Have you ever been propositioned by a prostitute?
Not that I noticed.
7. Have you ever had to get tested for an STD or pregnancy?
I asked once, but was informed that I had vanishingly low risk. Wonder if that's still true.
GREED
1. How many credit cards do you own?
Two. But only one is really mine.
2. What's your guilty pleasure store?
Yarn stores.
3. If you had $1 million, what would you do with it?
Find a really good accountant?
4. Would you rather be rich, or famous?
It depends. If I get to be famous for a theorem (where by "famous" we mean "somebody who's not a mathematician has heard of me"), that would be great. If I get to be famous for a horrible death, I'd go for the money, thanks.
5. Would you accept a boring job if it meant you would make megabucks?
No. I could have a job like that if I wanted it, I bet.
6. Have you ever stolen anything?
No.
7. How many MP3s are on your hard drive?
One? Maybe?
PRIDE
1. What one thing have you done that you're most proud of?
Um . . . Consistently refused to rank things like this?
2. What one thing have you done that your parents are most proud of?

3. What thing would you like to accomplish in your life?
Tenure!
4. Do you get annoyed by coming in second place?
No. Especially not if there's a prize for second.
6. Have you ever cheated on something to get a higher score?
I think once in middle school I went through a quiz hunting for errors to get it below 90%, so I could retake it.
7. What did you do today that you're proud of?
I wore my Swedish navy coat! (And I did a lot of math, but not enough to be actually proud of.)
ENVY
1. What item (or person) of your friends would you most want to have for your own?
Bookcases. I could really use some more bookcases.
2. Who would you want to go on "Trading Spaces" with?
Isn't this the show where you redecorate people's houses?
3. If you could be anyone else in the world, who would you be?
I wouldn't. Ever heard of self-esteem?
4. Have you ever been cheated on?
No. But I've had much more complicated problems.
5. Have you ever wished you had a physical feature different from your own?
I want more and thicker hair! Though really there's enough in my apartment as it is.
6. What inborn trait do you see in others that you wish you had for yourself?
Actually genetic? A lower predisposition to acne, perhaps? I'm sufficiently used to my mental traits that I prefer to mess with superficial things.
7. Do you wish you'd come up with this survey?
No.
Finally, what is your favourite deadly sin?
I seem to be big on pride these days.
Seven Heavenly Virtues
FAITH
1. What religion do you follow?
I have an altar to assorted gods. I read the Bible on holidays. I don't know, what religion does that make me?
2. What religion were you raised as?
I was raised by someone who quit grad school in intellectual history with a focus on sixteenth- and seventeenth-century religion to raise me. And wrote an unpublished novel about Vodun when I was about 7.
3. Do you believe that forgiveness is a religious property, or a human property?
Shouldn't that be divine rather than religious? I mean, it is something humans can do, we're just not all very good at it.
4. Do you believe in magic?
No. But I know exactly how it would work, if it was there.
5. What was the last promise you broke?

Maybe grace at somebody's house? Not sure.

No.
4. Do you believe in magic?
Not stupid hope-y magic.

No.
6. Do you gamble?
No, I'm far too risk-averse, as the economists have it.

I don't think I've had anything but classes called off. And those require more than one participant.

Letting people stay with me, driving them places, pushing therapy with varying degrees of urgency . . .
FORTITUDE
1. What are you most afraid of?
None of your business.
2. What did you do today that was really brave?
I fed the dept. guilt cookies, and admitted my guilt? Wasn't that brave. But I did math the rest of the day. And this survey, apparently.
3. Who is your favorite superhero, and why?
An ecoterrorist RPG character of mine.
4. Would you put your life in danger to rescue someone?
I don't know.
5. If you were to face the Wizard, would you want more courage, more brains, or more heart?
All he would do is give me something fake to boost my self-confidence, right? So who cares?
6. Have you ever gotten stage fright? If so, when?
Never seriously.
7. Do you consider yourself to be a leader or a follower?
I generally consider myself a trusted advisor.
JUSTICE
1. Have you ever been summoned for jury duty?
No.
2. If they reinstituted the draft (for both genders), would you go, or would find some way out of it?
My father was a conscientious objector, I would be too. Though you'd have to be stupid to put me in the military and not someplace like the NSA. I'm just a wuss in some ways.
3. Do you support capital punishment (the death penalty)?
No.
4. Do you believe that Dubya is rightfully President of the USA?
I'm stuck with him at this point . . .

Lots of algebra!

Something between faith and hope, though if I knew what I meant by faith we'd be all set . . .
