The barony's submitting a badge with a person on it. Official heraldic submissions are supposed to use Crayola markers, since they have predictable colors and stand up to being mailed all over the country. But your basic pack of Crayolas doesn't have a shade for "Caucasian human proper".

I waffled between a pack of "multicultural" Crayolas and the extravagance of a six-pack of Copics in various flesh tones, and ended up with the latter. They are extremely satisfying.

I want all the colors now, but I know I don't spend that much time drawing.

Man, if you lived near me I'd loan you mine. (I used to have a fairly large set, then flood; then telophase gifted me hers because she'd mostly stopped using trad media.)

If you want to make a smaller investment, the good thing about Copics is that you can blend colors, so frequently you don't need a bunch of the in-between colors. XD I stopped pursuing them mostly because the lack of lightfastness bugged me and, also, I couldn't get red to scan accurately for love or money. XD

I think I want black and a blending marker, and then we'll see how many things on my list of things I could draw in shades of brown actually get drawn. (Some cuddly Rahal wolverines?)

It is! I have two cats: this is the one who is outgoing and not all black, which makes him easier both to photograph and to draw.
