ursula: Gules, a bear passant sable (bear)

Ah, to have an income that supports red wine . . .

Rains too much, where I'm from.
Not just gray sky, gray air.
Walk to school through houses
too cheap to look the same.
Water oozes down my forehead
drop by drop. Can't see
the other side of the river.
Then one morning
clouds roll into white.
There's a mountain past the river and the fog.

The sun shines on your hair
the same way, sometimes.

Read a poem today, online,
out loud and it was Valentine's,
just like every year, this time.
And I wanted to say, to cast words out
to wish the writer of the poem
A happy day today.

You see why I don't write poetry?
