Does anyone have a good digital art tutorial in static form (essays, pictures, books, links)? I can tell that I'm still treating digital painting as if it were literally painting. This has its own charm sometimes! But I'd like to be able to make more polished pieces, too.

Date: 2019-12-30 04:24 am (UTC)Photoshop Studio with Bert Monroy: Digital Painting - this one is really best for things like painting wall textures or rust, although it also has some fundamental stuff on how to approach digital painting, and was another rec from
Bold Visions: The Digital Painting Bible by Gary Tonge is more oriented toward landscapes of the sci-fi/fantasy variety, but if you want to paint environments there's some interesting stuff here.
D'Artiste Digital Painting 2, Character Design, Fashion Design--all of these have walkthroughs for various pieces by different artists. I picked up Digital Painting 2 for the Mélanie Delon walkthrough because I like her fantasy women portraits, but you could probably have a wander through others in the D'Artiste series.
I think this is all I have on hand. I hope something in here is useful to you!
