I was tested for allergies today. It turns out that I'm not allergic to anything, which I found disappointing, since I was rather looking forward to an obscure antipathy to burdock or red maple. I'm not allergic to mold, either-- apparently it induces pain and coughing fits for purely physical reasons!-- but a Weak Chest is more poetic anyway, so I should count my blessings.

i assumed my respiratory issues were allergy-related for years before getting tested. still don't really know what's wrong with me. hope things go better with you.

also, although i know what your icon is, every time i see it i can't help thinking the writing looks like an unnatural hybrid of Arabic and something more actively european (maybe Gothic?).

My thoughts too. But I like it! And even better that it's the same backwards.

glad to hear you found something that worked.

i was actually thinking less ‘Gothic-style calligraphy’ and more ‘Gothic alphabet (http://www.omniglot.com/writing/gothic.htm)’, but it turns out i was wrong about that too.

My asthma seemed to come on quite suddenly as well, but in retrospect I can see that I had symptoms for much of my life -- just not quite as bad, so not over the threshold of "time to go see a doctor about this."

And I have almost allergic reactions to things I'm not technically allergic to -- but they sure trigger asthma. (Lavender is one of them.)

True, though I've always disliked the smell of lavender -- probably a subconscious awareness that I shouldn't be around it.

My asthma is "cough-variant" asthma, and usually manifests in coughing fits. So, yeah.

Yes, but you are not a poet. You are a mathemetician. You should try to get an autism-spectrum disorder.
