I'm officially at the Women's Program at the Institute for Advanced Study for the next two weeks, and ought really to be at Columbia talking to physicists about Griffiths-Dwork. If you're in New Jersey or New York and want to meet up, let me know.

The really exciting travel news, though, is that I've been accepted to a young algebraic geometers conference at Sabancı University in the suburbs of Istanbul. [livejournal.com profile] glasseye and I have worked out an elaborate itinerary that involves a journey from Seattle (or Vancouver) to London to Istanbul the week before the conference.

Whoa, cool! (On both counts). Any chance such a trip would involve a stop in Amsterdam? ;)

I'm sure that visiting Istanbul is going to be AWESOME.

I think, if I were to come to Princeton any day this week, Monday evening would be the only possibility. Would that be feasible, at all?

Um, yeah. I'll think about train times tomorrow at work... Is it possible for you to get into the town of Princeton? (When I drove to the IAS a few years ago, it seemed outside of the main part of town.)

OK. After discovering that the dinky schedule is apparently completely random, I think I will try for a train+dinky combination that should convey me to Princeton around 18.46.

Where shall I meet you? Do you have my cell phone number? (I have yours.)

Do not drink the water! My brother and I got very very sick last summer when my father misread the guide book and said we could drink the tap water in our hotel in Istanbul.

Unrelatedly, if you look carefully, the Hagia Sophia has graffiti in Runic.
